The first music conservatory in the city of Brockton, a Black / Cabo Verdean owned center for music education, founded by Greg Fernandes, in honor of his late mother Roseanna Fernandes–a beloved music teacher and community leader who mentors hundreds of young people through her teaching and love of all things music. From the website, “The Rose” is “empowering and cultivating a diverse, inclusive community of young artists, scholars, and leaders, who, through music inspire creativity and curiosity, while fostering a culture of value, respect and appreciation for all people.”
