
Here, Frederick Douglass (legendary abolitionist, orator, diplomat and author) spoke in 1842, during the fight to abolish the enslavement of African-Americans. Other well-known history makers gathered here as well– William Lloyd Garrison and Lucy Stone among them. It was a stop on the Underground Railroad. The original Liberty Tree was planted in Boston, located on the Boston Common, circa 1646. See more here
